Bringing Electric Service in to our new Kit Home

Description of image Bringing the electric service in for our new kit home turned out to be very inexpensive - free! In Trinity County there's a Title 24 program that provides the first $1,700 of work free if you are building an all electric house.

As shown earlier, it was quite expensive to have the electrician place the electric conduit, so we opted to have the electric come in overhead for the first 450 feet or so, and then went underground the rest of the way to the house. Here they are placing the 1st pole and you can see the other two in the background.

Description of image Trinity PUD was also responsible for pulling the wire through the conduit and making the actual connection to our main circuit breaker panel when we were ready for the temporary service to be hooked up.

Shown at left, our electrician Bill Sharp is putting in the conduit.
